"You don't always need a plan. Just breath, trust, let go and see what happens"
- Tiny Buddha

I followed a Skillshare class by the lovely Lauren Hom to create this chalk mural. The quote by Tiny Buddha inspired me, because I tend to overthink some of my passion projects. I make plans and I edit my pieces to a point, where I end up spending so much time on them, that I grow impatient, move on and they never see the light of day. There is a point to be made about about good planning, saving time in the long run but not if you over-plan and overthink. Some things just need to be spontaneous, bursts of creativity without the constraints of perfectionism. A quote by Da Vinci follows alongside that and always pops into my head when it comes to perfectionism, ever since I heard it in fine art class at school: "Art is never finished, it's only abandoned."

This blackboard/specials sign hangs in my kitchen, which means I inevitably walk past it every day. It reminds me that not everything needs to be thought out into every detail, or it will never see the light of day. I plan on creating more lettering work, on paper, chalk and digitally. To follow my progress and learn lettering basics as I learn them myself, follow me on social media for updates about upcoming projects.

The lower third used in this video is from my Geometric Collection and can be purchased on Adobe Stock.

You can learn how to do this and many other things, such as hand lettering, animation, graphic design, photography and more on Skillshare. There is a class for everyone. If you're not yet a member, sign up to Skillshare using this link and get two months of premium membership for free!
