In the summer of 2015 The Fifth Business was going through a rebranding. Kate Sullivan and I were both involved in the design and development of the new website, incorporating the company's new branding and colour palette. Primarily known to its clients as a change consulting agency, the company didn't have a digital marketing tool, to advertise its design and animation services. Kate and I took it upon ourselves to create an outward facing motion graphics ad, that would not only highlight the consulting but also design services the company offered.
We braindstormed, storyboarded, Kate designed, I recorded voice over and animated a piece that would show off these services in just the manner they were offered. We created a fun, lively motion graphics piece that not only told the story of the company but carried the visual language of the design department.
It is not often possible, even as a freelance designer, to be involved in all the stages of the production process. In this case, we created a piece from the ground up, all the way through to finalisation. It was a great learning experience and I am still proud of this work, even after all those years. The motion graphics animation is still displayed on The Fifth Business’ website, which surely speaks to its appeal.
